Workplace safety and health regulations are enforced by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. OSHA creates and codifies standards to protect workers from hazards, conducts inspections, and can cite employers or issue penalties for violations. It also offers training, outreach, and resources to help workplaces stay compliant, covering most private sector employers and many public sector workplaces.

The other options have different roles. The Joint Commission is an independent accrediting organization that evaluates health care facilities for quality and safety, but accreditation is voluntary and not the same as government-m mandated regulation. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention focuses on public health, disease prevention, and safety guidelines, not regulatory enforcement of workplace standards. The National Council on Radiation Protection is an advisory body that recommends radiation safety practices; it does not enforce regulations.
